MARRIAGE LICENSES ISSUED
Decatur County Journal
February 2, l893
The following marriage licenses have been issued by Clerk Gates since our
last report, January l8:
W.S. CLARK, 24 to STELLA GARDNER, l7.

That is all I have on her. W.S. is the son of Isaac M. Clark and Amanda
Buchanan.

When I got the above marriage licence info I checked with elders we have
living nearby who were sure this was them. He was deceased by 1916 when his
mother died. His son, William Cleo, spent time with the Clark family in
Colorado after they came here in 1907 so they are pretty sure W.S. was
deceased by then.

I didn't find Stella Gardner on the 1880 census. I haven't been able to
check 1900 census to see if they were on it. If anyone has the 1900 census
for Decatur Co, I would very greatly appreciate a lookup. Was there a state
census for 1895? If there was and anyone has that I would appreciate a
lookup there also.
