I too want to thank everyone for all the great work you have been doing
on the Decatur County list.

My grandfather was Wm. Cole BURCHETT and he had a farm north and west
of Grand River. He was married to Sarah Dietrich BURCHETT and they had
10 living children. My father, Virgil, was the baby and he was born in
1905. He lived on the farm until he entered high school, when the
family moved to Oceola.

After he married my mother, Elma MORROW, from Diagonal, Ringold County,
and I was born in 1937, my family moved to California in the S.F. Bay
area.

I have been back to Iowa a few times and have much affection for the
people and values of rural Iowa. I often tell people that I was raised
on an Iowa farm in California.

Happy New Year to everyone, and may the Decatur Co list remain strong
for a long time
