I only discovered John recently as he appears on the 1820-1850 NYC ship list
on ancestry. Com.
1847 ship Westminster.
The Oppau Frankenthal- Ludwigshafen Rheinland history has the town paying the
fare for the SeitzĀ to go to USA as father died of Heart Attack day before
departure while viewing one of his little acres. Missed ship lost passage. No
refunds.
John was born 19 May 1825 in Oppau based on Civil Records of Oppau. I follow
the current John to Andrew and Buchanan County.
In 1870 in Andrew County, MO name spelled on recorded for print census as
Seitz. In 1880 in Buchanan County name appears as Seitc.
Will try your advise.
Decatur is in what state.
John

The Davis City Advance, Davis City, Iowa
Thursday, November 2, l899

MR. JOHN SEITZ, of St. Joseph, Mo., and MISS CORA ARNOLD, of Davis City, were
married in St. Joseph Tuesday evening, and arrived in Davis City Wednesday
afternoon and are now the guests of her parents, MR. and MRS. S.L. WOOD. MISS
CORA is a young lady well known in Davis City and vicinity, having taught in the
schools of the county for several years. She has been teaching near St.
Joseph for the past year. The groom is not known to us, but we hope he is in every
way worthy of the bride and we wish them success through life.
