It's nice to do a census search with the Find function!

I can't figure out what happened to the McCARTIN's. Peter DOUGHERTY and his
wife Hannah (McCARTIN) came from Ireland with her extended family. As far as
I know, Peter was the only DOUGHERTY who came over. So why are Peter, Hannah,
their baby and her mother all alone in Dubuque County? Where did the rest of
her family go?
