The Dubuque County - Key City Genealogical Society is pleased to announce
that its library and office have been recently moved to the lower level of
the Masonic Temple at 12th and Locust Streets in Dubuque. The new location is
in Dubuque's Cultural Corridor. We are one block north of the Carnegie -
Stout Public Library and down the hill from the Center for Dubuque Area
History at Loras College.
The Society is planning an open house in May. The library will be staffed by
volunteers and will be open to the public. More information will be announced
regarding open hours and a telephone number.
************
Since 1977, the Society's Genealogical Research Committee has been responding
to requests for information from family researchers without charging an
hourly fee.
Many of the responses to requests have included looking up and copying
information from the many cemeteries that have been transcribed and proofed
by the Society, as well as the Society's compilation of the Declaration of
Intent to Become a Citizen for Dubuque County (index to naturalization
records). Additional resources in the Society's collection and at the
Carnegie - Stout Public Library are routinely checked for these requests.
In the past, requests have been routinely mailed to the Society's post office
box. We do accept requests by e-mail. The requests will be forwarded to the
Genealogical Research Committee to answer in the order in which they are
received. If you wish to e-mail a request, please include your full name and
street address. Again, the Society does not charge an hourly fee.

The Society's Librarian is always eager to hear about genealogies and family
histories regarding Dubuque County, as well as church, town, and
organizational histories. Many people have donated copies of their compiled
research to the Society. We have also purchased copies of specific titles at
various times.
Please feel free to share any information that you have about family or town
histories that have been printed. We can check to see if a particular title
is in our library. We are always interested in adding to the collection and
suggesting that the same titles be added to the collection at the Center for
Dubuque Area History at Loras College.
Thank you for your time.
