I'm descended from Jacobus' son, Henricus Luss (or as I know him from the Altlinster/Haller records, Henrici Ließ or Liß). His son, Theodore adopted the name Lies, and his son Henry emigrated to Illinois in 1853. I have a database of more 6700 descendants of Henrici.

I also have a second tie into the Loess family. Theodore married Margaret Steimetz, who was the granddaughter of Johannes Lannen and Catharina Loess. Catharina was born about 1704 and died in 1753 in Haller. I would appreciate any help that would identify where Catharina came from and who her parents were.
