David,
We have a definite connection. I have Henricuss LUSS, born 2 March 1687 in Strassen, Luxembourg. His Godparents were Henricus BASTIEN and Anna Maria, spouse of Joannes CLEES. Henricus married Margaretha HENTGES July 1729 at Altlinster, Luxembourg. The priest of the parish of Strassen authorized Henricus to marry in another parish. Henricus died 15 February 1770 at Altlinster.
I have no information on any of Henricus and Margaretha's descendnats. I would very much like to share information. I have a large database on other descendants.
The Loes surname has many variations among the records. Ones I specifically have encountered are: Lees, Leesse, Les, Lesch, Less, Lesse, Liess, Lies, Lis, Liss, Loes, Loess, Loesse, Löss, Lösse, Luss, Lüss . Modern surnames are either Loes or Less.
