I have been given the following information." "History of Fayette
County...1878" page 515, under sub-heading. "The Fayette County Cemetery
Associatin"... third paragraph down appears the following: "The first
interment had been previously made, it being that of Marie Alexander,
followed by the burials of J. Buffington, Mrs. Palmer and son, Mrs George
Walker, Mrs. I. Templeton, Mrs W.A. Boughly, Miss Davis and Moses Davis...all
in the year 1855. Cemetery records show Miss Davis as Sarah 17 yrs, old." I
would like to find someone to examine this book for further references to
Moses Davis and his daughter as well as possible reference to hhis son
A.F.Davis (Amos Franklin Davis) who would have been about 28 in 1855.I am a
great granddaughter of this son., who married in Illinos in 1856. I would be
glad to pay for any copies of this material that will be sent to me. If
someone is willing to research this Davis family, please write me about your
charges. I also read that A.F. Davis and H.E. Davis (both Central City)
attended the Olld Settlers Reunion in 1857. I think that was in Linn Co.. If
there is aan address to which I can write for coies of certain pages in that
1878 history, I would appreciate receiving the information. Thank you. Alice
