In researching the Hugh C. GAMMON family, shown on the 1880 Fremont Co.,
IA census, Prairie township, I ran across a Bond Record "C", dated 17
January 1899, for A. N. GAMMON "as principal" and J. T. O'Neal and J. R.
Jones "as sureties". The bond was for $1,000 and was to cover A. N.
GAMMON, the guardian of Roy Cox, Ray Cox, Merritt Cox, and Lee Cox, and
his duties to mortgage a certain real estate as ordered by the District
Court in January 1899. My question is: what sorts of circumstances
would have prompted such a court order? Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks. Judy
