Hi ! Carole Ann;

I am not sure if this is the same Eliphus Haning or not. If Moses Haning
was b. 1786 he would have been 44 years old when Eliphus was born. Was your
Moses and Eliphus residence in Meigs County, Ohio & Fremont County Iowa ?
Here is what I have on Eliphus Haning, married to Susannah Reeves in 1851;

Eliphus & Susannah were married April 21, 1851 at Meigs County, Ohio. Ref;
Meigs County marriage record 1-432.
The family is noted as living in Scott twp. Fremont County for two years
prior to 1856 on the 1856 Iowa state census.
Eliphus was 26 and Susannah A. was 24.
Their children William H. Haning was 04 b. Ohio and Rebecca b. Iowa, age 02.
Cyntha Ann Haning was born in Aug. 1856.

The three Haning children came under the guardianship of Stacy Reeves of
Fremont County, Iowa, after the death of Eliphus in 1856. Stacy released
guardianship of Cyntha Ann on April 17, 1875.
