LEWIS H. RICKARD, b. circa 1819 in Ohio; came to Fremont county in the early 1850's.

CHILDREN: (As far as known.)
1. Phebe, b. 6/2/1850 at Broad Ripple, Ind. -d. 4/15/1921; md. Hugh Clark Vanatta, b. 3/17/1846 -d. 10/17/1922; md. on 1/1/1874. Buried at Randolph, Iowa.

2. Jacob Henry, b. c. 1854 in Iowa. In 1921, lived in Kansas.

3. Isabella, b. c. 1856 in Iowa. No info.

4. Mary Caroline; md. James Henry Irwin on June 26, l863. Son of Hugh and Mary (Bolton) Irwin. In l921, lived in Kansas.

5. (a daughter) md. John Laird. In 1921, lived in Kansas.

6. Hannah J.; md. Christopher Columbus Reeves on Apr. 11, l861.

7. Sarah S.; md. Levi Irwin on August 3, l867. He served in Co. "A", 8th Iowa Cavalry during the Civil War. Son of Hugh and Mary (Bolton) Irwin.
