Mr. Sammons rites Friday
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m., at Gude Mortuary for Lester L. Sammons who died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital.
He had been in failing health for two and one half years.
The Rev. Ralph Dyer will officiate. Burial will be at Wyuka Cemetery.
He was born August 4, 1905 at Plattsmouth, Nebr., the son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Sammons. He married October 22, 1934 at Plattsmouth, to Frances Childers, who preceded him in August of 1969.
Survivors include children, Mrs. Clarence (Frances) Myers & Mrs. James (Vulma) Garr, Omaha; Mrs. Lewellyn (Nancy) Neeman, Palmyra; and 10 grandchildren.
Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Minnie Sammons, and brothers and sisters, Cordy and George Sammons and Mrs. Milo Longwell, all of Nebraska City; Thomas of Denver; Vernor of Omaha; and Victor of San Pable, Calif.; and Mrs. Lola Meyer of Cheyenne and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by a sister, his father and one grandchild.
He was a long time Nebraska City resident and was employed in the maintenance section of Morton House.
