THE FREMONT COUNTY HERALD. September 8, 1921.--Stella Elizabeth McKissick was born November 7, 1881 at Hamburg, Iowa, and died August 31, 1921 at her home in Riverton, Iowa. She was the fourth child of William A. and Ruth M. McKissick. She was united in marriage September 26, 1900 to Earl Hatton. To this union was born one child which died in infancy. Besides a host of friends and other relatives she leaves to mourn her death, three brothers, J.W. and W.G. of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Ed of Riverton; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Hatton of Fremont Nebraska, Mrs. Fred Beam and Mrs. Herbert Jones of Riverton and one half-brother, J.H.Cowles of this place and Mrs. Jane Beetam of Beatrice, Nebraska. Most of her life was spent in and about Riverton, except about ten years in Gosper and Polk counties, Nebraska. Her father died December 18, l908 and for nearly the last five years she had the constant care of her invalid mother, until she passed to her reward July 22, l920. Stella, as sh!
e was known to all, was a quiet unassuming woman, a kind neighbor and a great friend of the children. During her sickness that came as a breakdown from the constant care of her mother (sic). She never complained but always was cheerful. Early Tuesday she suddenly became worse and became unconscious until her death Wednesday.
