FREMONT COUNTY WILLS
Last Will of Jefferson Wade
I, Jefferson Wade of Fremont County Iowa do hereby make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit:
First...It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second....After the payment (of) such funeral expenses and debts, I give devise and bequeath unto my wife, Mariah Wade, the farm on which she now resides situated in Fremont County Iowa containing 180 acres and described as follows, to wit: 44 acres in Section 14-68-42 and 136 acres in Section 23-68-42, to have and to hold during her natural life and all the livestock horses cattle hogs and C by me now owned and kept thereon, also all the household furniture and other articles of personal property not here enummerated or otherwise disposed of in this will during her natural lifetime or so long as she may remain my widow, however after disposal of a sufficent amount to pay and discharge the debts aforesaid and that at her death all the property aforesaid to her bequeathed or so much thereof as remained unexpended.
I give and bequeath to my legal heirs, as follows, to wit:
Third...To my son William H. Wade, I give and bequeath Ten Dollars and if he be not living that said sum of Ten Dollars be paid to his legal representative.
Fourth...To my sons and daughters, to wit: Sanford Wade, Aaron Wade, Frank P. Wade, A. J. Wade, Mahala Jordan and Mary Doty, I will and bequeath share and share alike all the real estate and personal property remaining after paying funeral expenses, debts and the bequest to Wm. Wade, except as follows it is my desire that my son, Frank P. have in excess of the other heirs named, the sum of Three Hundred Dollars and that my son Frank P. also have out of the equal share of A. J. Wade the sum of one hundred dollars, that is to say that A. J. Wade is to share equal with the other heirs mentioned save and except that one hundred dollars be taken from his share and given to Frank P. Wade, and lastly I hereby constitute and appoint Robert Cartwill of Fremont County Iowa my Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I, the said Jefferson Wade have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of July 1890...Jefferson Wade
