THE FREMONT COUNTY HERALD. March 26, 1909. "MRS. MARTHA A. LANDRITH".--Martha Ann Yowell was born August 23, 1832 in Putnam county, Indiana, and died March 14, 1909 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leander Landrith, five miles northwest of Sidney.
She united at an early age with the Christian church at Manhattan, near Greencastle, Indiana, and at the age of 18 removed to Illinois. She was united in marriage to J. O. Landrith April 10, 1856, and removed to Fremont county, Iowa, in 1889.
She leaves to mourn her loss an aged husband, two sons, Ora and Noah Landrith, two daughters, Mrs. L. N. Landrith and Mrs. John H. Sitton, four sisters, one brother, sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She suffered a protracted illness of six weeks.
"The memory of the just is blessed."
Interment was made in the Lacy Grove cemetery.
These names and dates add more fully to her obituary that appeared in last week's HERALD....(Herald of 3/19/1909 says also: "....The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Leander Landrith, where she had made her home for sometime. The services were conducted by Rev. Geo. C. Hicks....")
N.B.: I have never learned which of her brothers was still alive in 1909.--W.F.
