In my files on Bert Settle I have Elizabeth J. Davis' parents as Louis/Lewis
Davis bn;1815 Pa, and Mary A.bn;1816 Ohio. Their children are James A.1839
Ohio; Sarah E. 1841, Ohio; Cyrus 1843 Ohio; Jesse 1845 Ohio; Elizabeth 1847
Ohio; Mary 1849 Ohio; Henry 1851 Ohio; Catherine 1853 Ohio; George A. 1855
Iowa; Keziah 1857 Iowa; Abraham 1859 Iowa; Abby A. 1863 Iowa.

Census Boone Co. Des Moines Twp. page 21B. I grew-up knowing about Bert Settle
in Thurman Fremont Co. Iowa. He had taken in a child Harold Williams, and
Harold grew up with the name Settle, until he went into the army in WWII, than
he took the name of William which was on his birth certificate. Hal Hatcher
