I doubt that Bertha Pettit Chapin was closely related to Peter Pettit. She was born 12-1875 in Elgin County, Ontario. She was the child of William Pettit born 3-24 -1853 and Margaret Jane Pettit, born Dec l857 in Ontario. She married John Chapin in Ontario and they moved to the US. They lived in Michigan - in Belding or near Flint.
