> I am researching my ancestors from Webster City, Hamilton. I would like
to post my names for the first time, and I hope that I do this right as I
am a beginner at this. I am from Vancouver BC Canada and am not familiar
with IOWA , but do know that they were from Webster City (is it still
called this?).
> I am researching
> NEESE Clyde he was born here and went to Ellsworth College for three
years and led the college band there (1901-1906). I am not sure of the
exact years. He was also in the Webster City Band and played the trumpet.
I think it was music that he took in College. He had 8-13 brothers and
sisters and I only know of these: Carl, Etta,Leah, Maggie,Ethal,Arch, and
Percey. Their parents names were Elisha Hurton (not positive on that
spelling) and Mary Emma Whaley. (I assume Whaley was her maiden name).
Clyde Neese moved to Underwood North Dakota and there he met and married
Florence Warner in 1909. Then they moved to Shaunavon Saskatchewan where
they homesteaded and had their family. I am wondering if there is a way to
get records of Clyde Neese playing for the Webster City Band? Would there
be any records that I would be able to get? I would also like to find out
where his family was from originally so that I can get birth records of
possibly Clyde, and his parents. I do not!
> know where they are from. Is there a census for 1901 for Webster City?
Clyde and Florence Neese also died while living in Sask. Of typhoid fever
and Florence's mother had their bodies brought back to Webster City for
burial in 1915 and 1916. How could I find out where they are buried? I
would like to know which cemetery they are in if possible. I would greatly
appreciate any information that might help me or even if someone could
guide me in the right direction.
