I am writing you direct because you have so many resources.
My ggrandfather, John Tiberius Oldaker was in either Monona or Harrison Co.
in the 1890s. His wife, Sara Ann (Kimberling) d.19 Feb 1898 and was buried
at Preparation. I thought she was moved with the my grandfather to Moorhead
Cemetery. When we visited that cemetery, there was no marker for her. I had
understood that Preparation was destroyed when the park was built there. I
am happy to know I was wrong. It is such a pretty place. Moorhead is pretty
bleak and treeless. John later returned to his original home in WV where he
died in 1924. Do you have anything on either of them. I cannot find any
land records for them either. If you find any mention of other Oldakers in
Harrison Co., I would like to know.
Mary,
I only have Preparation Cemetery for Monona County. I only found a few
tidbits for you in Harrison County. I thought I would find more because I
recognized the name Oldaker. I posted this to the Harrison County email list
in hopes another researcher will have more info for you. If you get a chance
to go to Moorhead go to the Senior Center across the street from the
Hospitality place. Granny B has a collection of Monona County resources at
the center for people to use.
If you have a picture of Sarah Oldaker we would love it if you shared it with
us. If you scan it and send it to me, Dennis will link it to the
Preparation webpage.

Nothing for Oldaker or Guin listed in my other books. My books are limited to
cemetery books, 1884 Atlas & 1905 Directory so they don't really cover the
1890's.
