Francis C. Henkelman

HARLAN - The funeral for Francis Clement Henkelman, 76, of Defiance will be
Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance with the Rev.
Michael Berner officiating.

Mr. Henkelman died Jan. 13 at home.

He was born in Manilla. He attended St. Paul's Catholic School. He was in the
service during World War II. He was a beekeeper. He was a member of St.
Peter's Catholic Church, American Beekeeping Federation, Iowa Honey
Producers, Southwest Iowa Honey Producers, Holy Name Society, Defiance City
Council, American Legion Post No. 707 of Defiance and Westphalia.

Mr. Henkelman and his wife, Mary Jane, were married 58 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Ruth Henkelman, of
Harlan; two sons, Dan and wife, Barbara, of Omaha and Clem and wife, Connie,
of Defiance; four sisters, Mary Schmitz and husband, LaVern, of Defiance,
Loretta Kenkel and husband, Joe Ray, of Dunlap, Dorothy Kenkel and husband,
Max, of Earling and Agnes Menze and husband, Jay, of Warrenburg, Mo.; 17
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

A wake service will be tonight at 7 at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan. Burial
will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Defiance.
