MISSOURI VALLEY - The funeral for Robert Edward Ferguson, 77, of Papillion,
Neb., will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri
Valley with the Rev. Warren officiating.
Mr. Ferguson died March 1 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
He was born July 12, 1924, in Council Bluffs to Rollie Otis and Pearl Ann
(Hume) Ferguson. He attended and graduated from Missouri Valley High School
in 1942. He served in the Marine Corp during World War II in the South
Pacific. He was a general contractor and carpenter, building in Iowa and
Nebraska, and he also farmed. He was a member of the 1st Marine Division sent
to South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Ferguson and his wife, Leota (Storrs), were married Nov. 6, 1949. He was
preceded in death by a son, Robert Timothy Ferguson.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Jane Ann Ferguson, of
Papillion; one son, James, of Papillion; two sisters, Frances of Council
Bluffs and Janice Hendricks of Missouri Valley; one grandson; nieces and
nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral
home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Missouri Valley with
military rites conducted by the Untied States Marine Corp.
