Ralph W. Allen

LEWIS - Ralph W. Allen, 88, of Lewis died March 14 at Cass County Memorial
Hospital in Atlantic.

He was born July 5, 1913, in Haddam, Kan. to Frank W. and Racheal M.
(Heartman) Allen. He worked heavy equipment as a dragline operator for Jess
Sherer and Paul Hoyt.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Porter), on Aug. 20,
1993.

Survivors include six daughters, Elaine Dooley of Lewis, Jennet Hiles, of
Council Bluffs, Mary Hiller of Houstonia, Mo., Thelma Allen of Ottumwa,
Brenda Allen, of Woodbine, and Linda Goudy of Ottumwa; four sons, Norman of
Latimer, Frank of Beloit, Wis., Ronnie of Missouri Valley, and Paul of
Council Bluffs; 44 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and six
great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in
Missouri Valley.

Funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mel Smith
officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
