Eugene V. Squier

Eugene V. Squier, 74, of Missouri Valley died March 19 in Missouri Valley.

He was born Oct. 20, 1927, in Missouri Valley to George V. and Bessie Moore
Squier. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a line foreman
for Iowa Power & Light for more than 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a
member of the VFW Club.

Mr. Squier was preceded in death by his wife, Vera, in 1991 and son, Michael,
and daughter, Cheryl.

Survivors include one daughter, Colleen Hopkins, and husband, Dennis, of
Missouri Valley; two sons, Wayne and wife, Margaret, of Bremerton, Wash., and
Greg of Waukee; one sister, Neomi Baxter, of Missouri Valley; one brother,
Bernard, of Missouri Valley; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at
Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the
funeral home with the Rev. Ron Wymer of Church of Christ officiating. Burial
will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
