MISSOURI VALLEY - Funeral for Elizabeth A. (Beth) Reel, 95, of Missouri
Valley will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Missouri
Valley.
Mrs. Reel died March 18 at the Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley.
She was born March 5, 1907, near Little Sioux to John and Amanda (Pugh) Fox.
She attended country schools around Mondamin and Little Sioux. She was a
member of the Church of Christ. She and her husband farmed in the Missouri
Valley area. They retired from farming in 1954 and moved into Missouri
Valley. She worked at cafes in Missouri Valley where she purchased the
"Coffee Bar" and operated it for five years.
Mrs. Reel was preceded in death by her first husband, J.D. Smiley, in April
1959 and her second husband, Fletcher Reel, in July 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Lila White of Papillion, Neb., and Marjorie
Salter of Missouri Valley; two sons, Alfred Smiley and wife, Alice, of Red
Oak and Calvin Smiley and wife, Norma, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two
stepsons, Robert Reel and wife, Joy, of Omaha and Dwight Reel and wife,
Margaret, of Bedford, Texas; one brother, Robert Fox, and wife, Helen, of
Missouri Valley; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren;
great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the
Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Cemetery in Missouri Valley.
