Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Congregational Church for Chester Bryan, 70. He died at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs Sunday morning. He had been in failing health and taken to the hospital the Wednesday before. Rev. Harlon C. Swift officiated. Chester Garfield Bryan, son of William C. and Adeline Bryan, was born May 20, 1880 in Pawnee County,Kansas, coming to Dunlap in 1881. His sisters both preceeded him in death. In 1910 he was united in marriage to Margaret Jones of Dow City. To that union were born 7 children: Doretha, Kenneth, Kathryn, Paul, Helen, David, and Geraldine. His wife and children survive. Besides them he leaves 2 grandsons and a granddaughter.
