Ella Anna Catherine Ronfeldt, 91, Persia, died Sunday, April 6, at Westmont Care Center, Logan. Ella was born at home in rural Persia, June 9, 1911 to Edward and Margaretha (Thompsen) Wiepert. She attended schools in the rural Persia area. She was married to Gilbert Peter Ronfeldt, Oct. 25, 1930. The couple farmed in the rural Harrison and Pottawattamie County areas. They had celebrated their 50th Anniversary in October of 1980. Gilbert died in June of 1981.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert; sons, Kenneth, Gene and Dennis; sisters, Elsie Golden and Emma Pitt; and brothers, Herb and Edwin (Heinie) Wiepert.
Survivors include her sons: Lyle Ronfeldt and his wife, Bonnie, Persia; Lynn Ronfeldt and his wife, Connie, Council Bluffs; daughter, Judy Hill and her husband, Art, Mulberry, Fla; brother, Carl Wiepert, Clinton; sisters, Margaret Olson, Logan; Helen Pieper, Clinton; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Logan Memorial Chapel, April 10, Pastor Ron Riley, officiant. Organist was Leota Mether, soloist was Greg Ring. Casket bearers were Josh Ring, Curtis Ronfeldt, Russell Ronfeldt, Jeff Ronfeldt, Kevin Ronfeldt, and Wayne Russell. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery, Persia. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
