WOODBINE - Hazel (Basch) Kierscht, 90, of Logan died Nov. 9 at Denison Care
Center in Denison.
She was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Missouri Valley to Henry and Pauline
(Ronfeldt) Basch. In November 1930, she married Harry William Kierscht. The couple
farmed southeast of Logan. Harry died in August 1977. She was a member of the
Christian Church in Logan. She had been active with the ladies group there and had
been in some neighborhood card clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Lloyd in December
2002; two brothers, Harry and Joseph Basch; and three sisters, Alma, Emma and
Edna.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kierscht and his wife, Jullian, of
Wichita, Kan., and Harold Kierscht and his wife, Connie, of Denison;
daughter-in-law, Bonnie Kierscht of Bradenton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; special nephew, Merle Heim and his wife, Rose, of Logan; and many other
relatives and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fouts
Funeral Home in Woodbine. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Christian
Church in Logan. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery near Logan.
