Donald R. Ward, 88 March 01, 2004

Donald R. Ward, 88, Missouri Valley, died Feb. 9 at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital, Missouri Valley.
Don was born May 15, 1915, in Pottawattamie County to Willard and Nelle (Stevenson) Ward. He attended and graduated from the Beebeetown High School in 1933. He was married to Ethel Bertelson for 59 years. He farmed in the Boomer Township area all of his life. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Don loved farming and enjoyed traveling and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanne Ward; sisters, Ruby Hoyt and Ruth Ericksen; and brother, Robert Ward. Survivors include his wife, Ethel, Missouri Valley; daughter, Jacquie Plews and her husband, Mike, and their son, Kai, Missouri Valley; sister-in-law, Louise Ward, Omaha; sister-in-law, Esther Bollinger, and her husband, Jack, Missouri Valley; beloved nieces; nephews other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held today (Friday, Feb. 13) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Missouri Valley.
Interment will be in the Grange Cemetery, Honey Creek.

Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, is in charge of arrangements.
