Clifford F. (Swede) Stueve, 86, Missouri Valley, died March 22 at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital, Missouri Valley. Clifford was born Dec. 24, 1918 in Little Sioux to Gusteve and Bessie (Ammons) Stueve. Clifford attended school in the Missouri Valley area. He was married to Eunice Adams, Oct. 7, 1939 in Onawa. To this union, seven children were born: Mary, Betty, Denis, Pat, Lyle, Randy and Julie. Clifford and Eunice farmed for many years in Harrison County and northern Iowa. Due to health problems, he quit farming and worked for Harrison County for many years as a truck driver. After retirement, he worked as farm help for his brother in Emmetsburg. He was baptized July 8, 1954 at Ruthven at Our Savior Church. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Missouri Valley. He loved farming, fishing and hunting. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harvey and Raymond; son, Lyle Paul; and grandsons, Kevin and Richard Totten. Survivors include!
: his wife, Eunice; daughters, Mary Scott and her husband, Carl; Betty Totten and her husband, Clifford; Pat Mackey; and Julie Brown and her husband, Daniel, all of Missouri Valley; sons, Denis and his wife, Janice, Modale; Rand, Missouri Valley; daughter-in-law, Linda Stueve, Missouri Valley; son-in-law, Donald Mackey, Logan; brothers, Roland, Missouri Valley; Gilbert, Graettinger; sister, Delores Claubaugh, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services were held March 26 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Missouri Valley, Pastor Robert H. Kruempel, officiant. Honorary bearers were: Ryan Brown, Kyle Stueve, Gerald Stueve, Tony Stueve, and Brian Stueve.
Casket bearers were: Ray Totten, David Stueve, Lonnie Stueve, Chad Brown, Keith Mickey, and Donnie Mickey.
Interment was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Missouri Valley. Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, was in charge of arrangements.
