Margaret H. Bruckner, 80, rural McLean, Neb. died May 28 at a Osmond, Neb. Hospital after an battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 25, 1924 in Mondamin to Dwight and Teresa Spooner. She was married Sept. 27, 1957 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Omaha, to William (Bill) Bruckner, McLean. Margaret attended school in Mondamin where her parents raised purebred Herefords. After high school, she attended Commercial Extension Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Phillips Petroleum, Omaha. She was also president of the Jane Phillips Sorority, a national organization of Phillips Petroleum female employees. She became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Guild, and assisted as a church organist. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Neighborhood Circle Club, and Homemaker's Club,. and also a leader for the Northeastern Plums 4-H Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and brother, Phillip Spooner. Survivors include: her six children and their spouses, Rebecca and Doug Murdock, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Bev and Tom Richards, Omaha; Tom and Ju!
lie Bruckner, McLean, Neb. ; Brian and Traci Bruckner, Osmond, Neb.; Carleen and Russ Barger, Lincoln; Kathleen and David Roberts, Sidney; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Jean Sudmeier, Yakima, Wash.; Rita Whorley, Omaha; Lois Carmody, Omaha; and brother, Roger Spooner, Mondamin; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held today (Wednesday, June 1) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Osmond, Neb., the Rev. Stan Schmit, officiant. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Osmond.
