Dorothy M. Peters, 93, Missouri Valley, died June 11 at Longview Home. Dorothy was born in rural Pisgah, May 17, 1912 to Mary Elizabeth (Baker) and Charles Earl McEvers.
She was married to William Asa Golden in 1927 and to this union were born son, Ira Golden, and daughter, Cleta Golden. William died in 1948 and Dorothy married Virgil Peters in 1953. He died in 1977. Dorothy lived in Missouri Valley since 1935 and had many friends. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; son-in-law, Richard Fuhr; and granddaughter, Vicki Jo Oliphant. Survivors include: son, Ira Golden and his wife, Shirley, Council Bluffs; daughter, Cleta Fuhr and her special friend, Doug McGinnis, Shenandoah; sister, Comilla Mitchell, Yukon, Okla., five granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held June 15 at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, Pastor Jason Everidge, officiant. Casket bearers were: Bill Bressman, Daniel Field, Hugh Fuhr, Brendon White, Gary White, Chris Field, Larry Coddington, Justin Oliphant and Doug McGinnis. Interment was in the Little Sioux Cemetery.
