Mary K. Jacobsen, 68, Missouri Valley, died March 26, at Alegent Health Community Memorial Hospital, Missouri Valley. Mary was born to John and Betsy (McClain) Cosgrove, Dec. 3, 1937 in Rapid City, S.D. She lived in Minnesota for a time, but spent most of her life in Iowa.
Her many hobbies included crocheting, puzzles, crossword puzzle, and music. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christine; and grandson, John Derek Jones. Survivors include: her children: Sandy Preister and her husband, Tom, Humphrey, Neb.; Tom Ahlers and his wife, Bonnie, Deer Creek, Minn.; Pat Jones and her husband, John, Logan; Terry Ahlers and his wife, Shelley, Omaha; Tammy Allen and her husband, Tom, Missouri Valley; and her ex-spouse, Henry Ahlers, Norfolk, Neb.; sisters, Bethene Hoar, Perham, Minn.; Carol Jacobsen, Sioux City; Shirley Tuttle, Deer Creek, Minn.; brothers, Mike Cosgrove, Devers, Tex.; Pete Cosgrove, Lawton, Okla.: eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was celebrated March 30 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Missouri Valley, Rev. Fr. Bob Harris, celebrant. Organist was Lyle Waterhouse, vocalist was Rick Powell. Honorary Bearers were: Nick Allen, Bo Suntken, John Ahlers, Alex Ahlers, Mike Ahlers, Alicia Jo!
nes, Chase Ahlers, Shanna Ahlers, and Leana Honebrink. Casket Bearers were: John Jones, Tom Allen, Tom Preister, Gabe Ahlers, Daniel Preister, and Mike Honebrink. Interment was in the Woodbine Cemetery. Hennesey-Aman Funeral Home, Missouri Valley, was in charge of arrangements.
