James E. (Jay) Dunne, 86, Tulsa, Okla. died May 29, 2005 in Tulsa. James was born in 1920 and raised in Pisgah, graduating in 1937. He eventually arrived in Tulsa in the late 1950s. In the mid-1960s he went to the Middle East for many years erecting oil rigs for several oil firms in Kuwait, through the Persian Gulf, and Saudi Arabia. After traveling the world over, he returned to retire in Tulsa. Jay spent his retirement enjoying ballroom dancing, his family, friends and neighbors. But, Jay's greatest satisfaction came with his involvement with Tulsa Akdar Shrine. He served the Shriners in any capacity needed and took great enjoyment in transporting many children to the various Shriners hospitals, sponsoring children in need of medical help and going beyond the call of duty by helping his kids in any way possible. For his efforts, Jay was named Shriner of the Year for 2000. Never losing his small town roots, always willing to help others, he will be missed by his many fri!
ends, neighbors and dancing partners.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in- law, James E. and J.J. Dunne II; daughters, Janine Davis, Jan Wisener, and Jill Dunne; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grand-children and Joyce Dunne, all of Tulsa. His son, James, and wife, J.J., plan to return to Pisgah, May 28, to return his father's ashes to the old High School, scene of some of his fondest memories.

Respectfully submitted for other researchers.
