Grace Edith Welbourn was born in Pottawattamie county, May 20, 1875, died at the Lord Lister hospital, Omaha June 5, 1923, after an illness of several months. She was married to Fenton E. Mott February 12, 1895, at Neola, Iowa. They made there home near Neola and later near Logan, Iowa, where she lived up until the time of her death. She leaves her husband, Fenton E. Mott, one son Lloyd and eight daughters. They are Mrs. G. H. Springer of Harlan, Mrs. A. A. Joy, living near Woodbine and Ada, Josie, Grace, Lucy, Clara and Wilma, who are all at home. Velma Darlene died at the age of one month. Her father Joseph Welbourne, Neola, her brothers and sisters, Mrs. James DeLanty, Council Bluffs, Fred Welbourne, Neola, Mrs. W. C. Wilmott of Ote, Mrs. Ira Henry, Mrs. Eli McKeown amd Mrs. Daisy Wilmott of Honey Creek, Herbert and Maurice Welbourne, Sheby, Mrs. Leo Ryan and Harvey Welbourne, Neola. She has three grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Christian church!
of which she was a member, at Logan, June 6. Rev. F. K. Hargrove from the North Side Christian church of Omaha conducted the services. Mrs. Mott was a patient sufferer, and never complained during her long illness. She tried hard to live to be with her family, but expresed readiness if called to go. Most of her time since her illness was spent in the Lord Lister hospital, where she was much loved and loving cared for. Mrs. Mott was a loving wife and mother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
