Raymond D. Chapman, 82, Missouri Valley, died June 18, at Rose Vista Home, Woodbine. Raymond Daniel Chapman was born Feb. 10, 1924 in Ogilvie, Minn. to G.W. and Stella (Kasprak) Chapman. He was married to Maxine Roberts, March 15, 1950 in Omaha. Raymond farmed in Missouri Valley and Oakland areas all of his life. His passion was farming and he enjoyed animals, nature, and fishing.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel; grandson, William Husted; infant grandson, Michael Drake; and brothers, Kenneth and Charles Chapman. Survivors include: his wife, Maxine, Missouri Valley; daughters, Tamara Chapman, Missouri Valley; Connie Drake and her husband, Charlie, Emerson; Christy Rush and her husband, Maurice, Missouri Valley; LeEllen Ahmed, Missouri Valley; sisters, Charleen Chapman of California; Betty Holms, Red Oak; brothers, William J. Chapman, Omaha; G.W. Chapman, Logan; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 31 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held today (Wednesday, June 21), at 10 a.m., at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Pastor Steve Cornelius, officiant.
Casket Bearers will be: Ed Burk, Derek Ahmed, Raymond Drake, Belih Ahmed, Jason Jensen, and Gary Burnison.
Interment will be today at 1:30 p.m. in the Oakland Cemetery.
