5 YEARS AGO.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenwood Tolson were the parents of a daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Kerr were the parents of a girl.
Mr. and Mrs. C.E. DeVol were the parents of a girl.
10 YEARS AGO.
Fred Dietsick of New London died at the home of his son, Lester Dietsick.
The name of the Auditorium was changed to the Colonial Theatre.
15 YEARS AGO.
Alpha Xi Delta entertained at a formal dance at the Golf club.
20 YEARS AGO.
Funeral service was held at the Congregational church for Margaret Barnes of
Mt. Pleasant who died at the home of her sister near Creston.
The May meeting of the Pollyanna club was held with Mrs. Martin Harshbarger.
25 YEARS AGO.
Markets: Oats 40c; corn 55c; rye 70c; wheat $1.00; hogs $7.60.
Bertah Pittman was in the hospital as the result of the injuries received in
an auto accident.
30 YEARS AGO.
A marriage license was issued to J.V. Hamlin and Mrs. Minerva Foutch.
35 YEARS AGO.
Mrs. Elmer Richmond passed away.
Joseph Herzog, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Herzog, passed away.
Mrs. Anna Mary Smith of Chicago died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs
John Feehan of near Trenton.
Mrs. Margaret Wynne, 80, of Winfield, died following a fall from the third
story window at the county home.

5 YEARS AGO.
Edward Taylor bought the Roy Fleenor building on the south side of the
square.
Mrs. Atlee Alton of New London passed away.
Mrs. Edith B. Martin was named as state treasurer of B.P.W.C.
A marriage license was issued to Willis Graber and Marjorie Watts, both of
Wayland.
10 YEARS AGO.
Mrs. George Ramey died at her home on South Harrison street.
Mt. Pleasant High was to graduate 94 seniors.
Funeral services was held for A.W. Miller.
15 YEARS AGO.
The following were graduated from the Catholic school: Olive Austad, Wilma
Brandmeyer, Richard Gossman, Rita Jacobs, Ann Shortal, Louis Watters.
Elinor Thompson was installed as president of Pi Beta Phi.
20 YEARS AGO.
A marriage license was issued to Carol Victor Carter and Mabel Tucker, both
of New London.
Myron C. Caris passed away.
25 YEARS AGO.
Graduates of Pleasant Lawn were Ruth Kopp, Dorothy Hannum, Pearl Kerker,
Bertha Kauffman, Esther Wickham, Elmer Garrels.
Alice O'Connor and Stace Crowl were married in the Parish House with Father
Gafney officiating.
30 YEARS AGO.
Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Field of Rome were the parents of a son.
Don Campbell, foreman of the K-line section gang, was fatally injured in a
wreck south of town.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. John J. Stanton of Portsmouth, N.H. Mrs.
Stanton was formerly Margaret Donahue.
35 YEARS AGO.
Mrs. James Logsdon funeral services were held at Benjamin chapel.
