MT. PLEASANT is located in this township. The population, outside of the
City limits, numbers 1493. The timber and prairies are about equally divided.
Water privileges are abundant. Skunk river touches the south-west corner, and
Big Creek circles through the central portion from north to south. Any
quantity of good building stone is found in the banks of this Creek. Coal, also,
has been found in several places in the township.
