Mount Pleasant is a town of about 8,000 people. There are about five
motels in town. Most of them on the NE corner of town. The Mount
Pleasant Public Library will be moving to the renovated former high
school and they expect to move in March-April. They will have a lot
more space. They are trying to get grant money to help in getting
their microfilm computerized readers that will print to computer
printers, be saved to CDs or send over the internet. When I talked to
them recently they sounded like they wanted to go state of the art.
The last I read it might cost 20,000 dollars to get what they want.
From their newsletter "Some funds will be raised through grants, but
additional monies will be required." The Friends of the Library have
taken this fund raiser on as their project. The old high school will
also be a community center and the new address will be:
Mt. Pleasant Public Library and Civic Center
307 E Monroe, Suite 101
Mt. Pleasant, Iowa 52641

I would suggest sending money to the attention of: Friends of the
Library

200 N. Main Street
Mount Pleasant, Iowa 52641
