"Pioneer Life in Jones County" was written by O. J. Felton in 1931 and
tells of life in Madison township, Jones county, during the second half of
the 19th century. Oliver Felton was born there in 1862. He has many
interesting stories about farming, social life, churches and schools of
that era.

As the result of efforts by Brad Wasson we have received permission from
the State Historical Society of Iowa</a> to reprint this article from "The
Iowa Journal of History and Politics" at the Jones county web site, and
thanks to Gene Steyne we have a couple of photos to illustrate it.
