Hi Gail: I am very disappointed in the Iowa list and particularly with the Historical Society in Jones County. My daughter and I flew from Florida and Alabama to research family in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. While in Northern Missouri, I called the genealogical society president and requested information on m g-g-grandfather and g-g-grandmother. I told the person that I was about 160 miles South of the area where we wanted to do research, and was told it would do no good to come, because they could not find anything on them. Even though the last known address in the 1880 census was Jones County. She acted like it was an imposition that I called. I guess I will have to go another route. I have strong evidence that they died there. My daughter and I were really disappointed since we went to far just to do research.

On a positive note, we did find good information in Shelbina, Missouri from a Kathleen Wilham, Researcher, she is a delightful person and most helpful. She took us to the grave site of my 4th grandparents. I also found my g-grandmother's grave in St. Joseph, Missouri, because of the helpfulness of a gentleman 3 years ago. It was a very productive trip, just sorry I couldn't get any cooperation out of the Jones County people.
