Dear IALINN List,

My g grandfather, Walter Richmond, was last seen in the Cedar Rapids
area in 1949. He was somewhat enstranged from the family at the time
because of a drinking problem. No one in our family knows what
happened to him, when he died or where he was buried.

He was born in 1889 in Wisconsin and *to my knowledge* was only married
to Lillie Anna Barta and had 2 children, Walter Ernest and Maxine.
Walter and
Lillie were married in 1911 in Marion, IA. I've been told that he was
"very friendly"
with the ladies so he may have more children in or out of wedlock after
his
divorce from Lillie in the early 1920's.

Walter Richmond's father was named Needham Richmond and his mother
was Mary Hannah Richmond (Sprague - maiden). Needham died in CR, IA
in 1928 and Mary Hannah in CR, IA in 1945.

Many of early adult years as husband and father were spent in the Cedar
Rapids
area and, as mentioned above, he was last seen in the Cedar Rapids area
in
1949.

I'm hopeful that this e-mail may reach someone who might have known him
personally or may have information on his death.
