I just got back from the research trip to Lucas, Chariton, and Des Moines.
It's gorgeous country around Lucas and Chariton. I had no trouble at all
finding the cemeteries, thanks to the excellent directions I received from
this list. I enjoyed driving up in the hills to Rose Hill and Fry. I found
my ancestors easily, and took pictures of the tombstones. I wanted to visit
the Chariton Library, but it didn't open until noon and time was short. The
museum in Lucas wasn't open on Mondays. I hope I can get back that way next
year. Thanks to those who helped direct me.
