Greetings,
I live at Carthage, Illinois, and my place of business is just two
blocks from the Old Carthage Jail where Joseph and Hyram Smith were shot
and killed. An article about the Mormons was printed in Harper's New
Monthly Magazine, in 1853, about 20 pages in length, which is very
interesting. I am not a Mormon, and did not know about the difference
between Joseph Smith and Brigham Young regarding polygamy.
