DERBY:
There are now three stores, -- G.H. BELL & Co., F.M. HAMAKER and MCHENRY -- two lumber yards, -- BELL & Co., and JOHN THROCKMORTON, -- one millinery shop, MRS. H.A. BARNHOUSE, -- one blacksmith, SAM'L WRIGHT, -- one doctor, S.H. STUTSMAN, -- and one carpenter, T.F. ENSLOW.
The frame for the Methodist Church is being put up and the blocks for the Presbyterian set.
MILLER & HATCHER of Akron, Ohio, have some 12,000 bushels of corn cribbed at the station.
During April, 10 cars of lumber were received, and 2 cars of potatoes, 8 cars of oats and 4 cars of hogs shipped; merchandise, the freight of which amounted to some $400 was also received, and 75 cases of eggs expressed to MOONEY at Chariton.
B.F. CHAPMAN is postmaster, and I.N. HALL, Station agent.
BELL & CHAPMAN buy grain.
DR. STUTSMAN has just completed a pleasant little residence.
