In the 1880 Federal Census, the Alfred & Josephine Wingate family was listed as living as living in Malvern. They ended up in Des Moines at some point after that. In the 1870 Federal Census, they were living in Winneshiek County in NE Iowa. I am curious if there are any Wingate relatives still living in the Mills County area. At the time of the 1880 census, Alfred was listed as a RR Station Agent so I am interested in any kind of information about Alfred and his job at about that time and any other information that might be available. There were 4 children in the family.
