1900 Federal Census Worth County, Iowa, Deer Creek Township, p. A 73, district # 143. Sheet # 2. 5 June, 1900.

Carl SCHULZ, white male, was born in April of 1854; he was 46 years old on his last birthday. He has been married for twenty-four years; nine children were born to this family with eight still living. Carl was born in Wisconsin with both of his parents born and married in Germany. He is a farmer with US Citizenship. There is a number written in above his name: a-0-1-6. He can read, write and speak English. At this point he does not yet own his farm. Both SCHULZ' maintained their Roman Catholic Religion.

Barbara SCHULZ, white female, 44 years, with a birthday in April of 1856. Both of Barbara's parents were born and married in Germany, but she was born in Wisconsin.

Children:
Willie, age, 18, born in Wisconsin
Tressie, daughter, age 15, single born in Wisconsin
Mathilda, daughter, age 10, born in Wisconsin
Sarah, age 8, born in Iowa
Michell, son, born in Iowa in April of 1895. He is 5 years old.
Mary A., daughter, born in August of 1897, 3 years old.

We know that Anna was married in 1896, but John SCHULZ noted in the 1880 Federal Census is missing. He was either married or on his own working. The name of Michell, is spelled differently in the U.S. Census of 1910. Michael in 1910. Now, we learn that Michael died in 1922. He must have never married. No one in the family has mentioned Michael before. We need to look more closely at the old photos of the Kings in the 1920's for some of the SCHULZ' must be present and we were unaware of who they were.

1910 U.S. Federal Census, Worth County, Iowa, Lincoln Township, p. # 7 B, District. # 176. 144 - family # 145:

Carl, white male, head of household, age 54. Birth location is Wisconsin. Both parents were born and married in Germany.

Barbara, is a white female, 54 years of age, born in Wisconsin, both parents born in Germany.
Living at home are Michael (see Michell in 1900 census), son, 15 years of age
Mary A. 12 years old.
All speak, write, and read English.

1920 U.S. Federal Census, Worth County, Iowa, sheet 6 A, enumeration District. # 187, supervisor's District. # 4; Dwelling # 110, family # 113. Carl (spelled incorrectly, Schultz) is a white male, 65 years of age, and married to Barbara, who is 63, a white female. They are able to read, write and speak English. Mike/Michael/Michell is now 25 years of age and still living at home. Both Carl and Barbara list their birthplaces as Wisconsin; they do not list a mother tongue. Both parents, they state, were born in Germany and spoke German.

1925 State of Iowa Census, Kensett Township, Worth, County, Iowa, Line # 148,
Carl SCHULZ, 70 years old. Barbara is still alive, but is listed as dying in 1925. They own their farm, free of mortgage. They attended rural school; During this census, the parents names are identified along with nationality. Carl SCHULZ' father was Carl SCHULZ, Sr., born in Germany and his mother was Amelia. Barbara's father was Peter Wagner who was born in Germany.

OBITUARY-

John Wagner Died Thursday Morning After Long Illness

John Wagner passed away at his farm in Cedar township early Thursday morning, after a lingering illness.
Mr. Wagner was born Oct. 10 1867 in Wannakee Dane County, Wisc., to Peter and Katherine Wagner, but came to Osage at an early age. His farm was located on the picturesque river road to Mitchell, and his pasture on the river bank has been used for years as picnic grounds by folks of the community. Mr. Wagner was very generous and kindly toward his visitors, and gained a wide acquaintance over the county though them.
Mr. Wagner's first wife was Mary Tubbs-Packard, a sister of Charles Tubbs. She passed away in 1918 and about ten years ago he was married to Agnes Baker.
His wife survives him, also the following brothers and sisters; Frank and Peter of Waseca, Minn.; Nick, Osage; Mike, Springfield MO.; Joe, whose present whereabouts is unknown; Annie Wagner and Mrs. Katherine Kluff, of Chicago.
Relatives and friends from out-of town who attended the funeral included his brother, Frank, and son Morris, of Waseca; nieces, Mrs. Malvor Bjorgo, Kensett; Tillie Anderson and son of Northwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schmidt and baby, Marilyn; Prell Baker, Gladys Schmidt, all of Spring Valley, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. H. Brimacomb and William Dankert, Austin Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Kaktor, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Faktor all of Mason City; Henry Michalek and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Nora Hunchis, Fred and Dorothy, all of Plymouth: Henry Urbatch and family. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Cobeen and Mary Jane, of Manly; Ed Glassel, Mrs. Wesley Graper, Mrs. Leo Kirchgatter, Mrs. H. Kirchgatter, Leon Prell, Mr. and Mrs. John Koci, Pearl and Lowell, Emil Walk and family, of Grafton; Mrs. Jennie Banjay, New Boston, Ill.; Iris and Russell Prell, of Cumberland, Wis.
Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart church at Osage, in charge of the Rev. J.P. Martin, and burial was made at the Oakwood cemetery, at Mitchell. Pallbearers were his friends-Andy Ryan, Fred Schersach, Ed Indra, Lee Ross, Jim Lonie and Nels Benson.
