Here is a long shot.
My great great grandfather was John M. Selak. His parents were Albert and
Elizabeth Selak. They were immigrants from Bohemia. The rest of my family
names are English so I am very fond of the Selak name!
On their way to the West in the 1850s they appear to have stopped in Iowa.
John is recorded as being born on June 28, 1858 in the 1901 Canadian census,
and on his tombstone as June 23, 1858. It has come to me from somebody's
notes that John was born in Moscow, Iowa. Can anybody help me confirm this?
