Norman,
I have a connection to your Buntings and Runyons. Isaac N. Bunting's mother was Eliza Babcock, whom I'm sure was a sister to my 4th greatgrandfather, John Vinton Babcock who resided in Page Co., too. I have an interesting newspaper article which reads:
1911 - Shenandoah Sentinel Post newspaper dated Aug 25, 1911:
"Mrs. Jane Babcock and granddaughter, Miss Reed, from Sioux City, have been visiting at the home of I. N. Bunting the last few days. Mrs. Babcock is an aunt of Mr. Bunting. John Runyon and wife of Fowler, Kan., also visited at the Bunting house."
It is from this newspaper excerpt that it has been determined that Isaac N. Bunting's mother, Eliza Babcock Bunting, and John Vinton Babcock are siblings. This is how Sarah Jane Stine Babcock can be the Aunt of Isaac N. Bunting. The "Miss Reed" mentioned in the article would have been Ina Mabel Reid.
John V. and Sarah Jane (Stine) Babcock were from Jasper and Marion Co's in IA. Their daughter, Mary E. Babcock married Charles Ira Reid. They are my GG Grandparents who moved to Sioux City in the 1890's.
I am interested in find out who John V. and Eliza's parents and siblings were.
Do you have Hookhams in your tree? How about Dawsons? John V. and Sarah Babcock's daugher, Ida Jane Babock married Edward J. Hookham, they then divorced in 1900 and I've lost track of her. I've just recently met with Hookham descendants of Edward and Ida, in Shenandoah. Edward and Ida Hookham had three children, Robert, Earl, and Myrtle. Myrtle's married name was Dawson and she lived in Hinckley, MN.
Please review my family home page. The Internet Book, there has a chapter on my Babcocks which list some of the Buntings, too.
