Subject: Looking for cemetery near RR station in DesMoines 1915ish
Date: Tue, 11 May 2004 13:06:01 -0400

Hello-
I'm new to research in Iowa. My grandparents while in route via train from Boston to possibly San Francisco stopped in or near DesMoines to visit his sister's gravesite. [His sister, Olga Vesti HAYES (daughter of Edgar O. and Cora HAYES), died age 4 while the family was there on business around 1910 time frame.] During the stopover at the station my grandfather left my grandmother waiting on the train, went to visit the gravesite, and returned to the train to continue on their trip out West. My questions: Would anyone know of a cemetery close enough to a train station that existed there around 1910-1915 that this visit could be accomplished during a stopover? Where can I look to find out more information so I can locate the burial place of little Olga Vesti?
Any ideas that can get me going on this search would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! Lorie (in NJ)
