Let me jump in for a minute.

I just read in a Genealogy book at Barnes & Noble(sorry I don't remember the
name of the book) that "relict " means "died after the husband" and "consort"
means "died before the husband."

This info caught my eye as this topic was discussed on a Bob & Tom radio show
a couple of months ago.

They were talking about what a "consort" meant on a tombstone. Of course they
went off the track and thought it meant that she was an "affair" LOLL
